What's it like to be a leader? Ask any of our students and you might get different answers, but something they all have in common is they are empowered to be leaders at school. Our WOW teams encourage students to build the lifelong leadership skills they need, like communication and teamwork. For example, students who are part of our Leadership WOW Team lead our school assemblies which give them the opportunity to practice their public speaking and take ownership in planning each event. Way to go!
This is your friendly reminder that taxes are due today! Which is also the perfect reminder that if you haven't yet registered your child for the 2025-2026 school year, be sure to do so as classes are filling up quickly. We'd love to have your family as part of our Folsom Prep community! https://www.folsomprep.com/page/admissions

Happy Spring Break! School will be closed April 14-18 (except for pre-registered Spring Break Campers - registration is closed). We hope you all have a wonderful, relaxing time off and come back refreshed and ready for school on April 21!

Check out our budding artists-in-residence here at Folsom Prep! Students in Ms. Hailey's art class have been putting their crafting skills to work in the last few weeks.
✂️TK and 4/5th grade got their scissors and glue out for paper crafts such as paper dolls and creative advertisements!
🌟Kindergarten and 1st grade recently have been doing more hand crafts like weaving practice to learn about tapestries and even clay animals!
🎨 2nd & 3rd grade focused on painting watercolor landscapes using limited colors!
Each week, students practice various art skills which allows their creativity to blossom. And we can't wait for you to see what they've been working on all year!
🗓 Mark your calendars for May 15 when we host our annual Student Showcase. The hallways and classrooms of Folsom Prep transform into an art museum, filled with your children's masterpieces!

This month, let's get to know Mrs. Garcia, our awesome 1st grade teacher! Mrs. Garcia has been a teacher at Folsom Prep since 2020, and we're so lucky to have her (and Kimchi, who always is by her side). She and Kimchi make learning super fun! 🐹

You might have noticed that students around here sure love math! Earlier this week on St. Patrick's Day, students in Mrs. Dhami's Kindergarten class had fun sorting, adding, and graphing. If you find 10 rainbows and 6 clovers how many lucky charms do you have? Using tangible items with hands-on lessons helps bring math to life and students more easily grasp concepts! 🌈➕🍀

TK and Kindergarten are some of the most formative and foundational years in a child's educational journey. At Folsom Prep, we set up each child for success through our full-day programs.
Our TK teachers work with each child to build their literacy and math skills, so they are fully prepared to enter Kindergarten successfully. TK classrooms have a 12:1 student to teacher ratio, enabling our teachers to provide children with the 1:1 attention they deserve.
In Kindergarten, students learn to read, write, add, subtract, and spell. The average class size is 17 children, so teachers can spend more time during the day addressing the individual academic and social needs of each child.
But our teaching doesn't end at math, reading, and writing. Every child from TK-5th grade learns Spanish, music/drama, art, physical education, technology, STEAM, and more each week. By being exposed to a variety of subjects and teaching styles, students build social and emotional skills, grow their creativity, and experience hands-on learning.

"Our oldest son recently came back to Folsom Prep after being at public school for 2nd grade. We saw a huge difference between the education he had received at Folsom Prep and what he was learning in public school. At public school his reading comprehension was declining, he wasn’t getting the 1:1 attention he received before, and he was bored in math because he was relearning what he'd already learned in 1st grade at Folsom Prep. Since coming back, we’ve noticed so many positive changes – his reading has improved significantly, he loves enrichment classes (at public school, you get STEM lab maybe once a month or trimester – same with art), and he wants to get to school early every day because he loves it.” – Megan A., Parent

Tomorrow is your last chance to buy tickets to our annual Family Dance on March 21st! Join us in Candyland for a fun-filled evening with a catered dinner, music, and dancing! Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children and you can purchase them at the office.

Did you know Folsom Prep has an engineering design lab? Every week, students take a technology class from the one and only Mr. Smith, where they get to learn, create, and innovate! From learning computer basics to coding programs and using 3D pens and printers to learning all about internet safety, students have access to incredible learning tools and resources.

This month, let's get to know our amazing Kindergarten teachers, Mrs. Castro, Mrs. Dhami, and Mrs. Mayer! We're so lucky to have such incredible teachers helping to set a strong foundation for each child's educational journey.
