Last Friday students dressed up as the world's cutest 100-year-olds to celebrate our 100th day of the school year! 🥳 (We swear, they don't look a day over 11 at the most!)

"Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming!" - Dory
Dory is technically a blue tang fish 🐠, but at yesterday's field trip for 1st and 2nd grades, students learned all about salmon and just why they swim upstream! They went to the Nimbus Fish Hatchery along the American River where they had a great time learning about the lifecycle of salmon and even getting to feed them!

This month's Teacher Feature is all about Ms. Ward! Our favorite librarian brings books to life, helping nurture a love of reading in all our students. Let's get to know her!
In her spare time, Ms. Ward loves spending time with her 8-month-old terrier mix puppy, Ginny. 🐕She's doing really well in her training classes, and a few weeks ago, her trainer asked them to be part of a news segment promoting dog training on Good Day Sacramento! So cool!
They also like going on sniff-aris, which are walks in the park where she sniffs around. Ginny loves to cuddle with Ms. Ward on the couch to watch TV, and sometimes Pete the cat 🐈 joins in once he sees Ginny napping. Ms. Ward also loves playing games with friends and family.
Of course, we had to ask Ms. Ward what her favorite book is, and she's got a few great ones to share for every age, including adults:
📚Picture Book: The Book with No Pictures by B. J. Novak, because it always makes students laugh.
📚Graphic Novel: The New Kid by Jerry Craft, because everyone can relate to being the new kid.
📚Upper Elementary Novel: Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O'Dell, because she enjoyed it when she was a student.
📚Nonfiction: Any book in the Who Would Win series by Jerry Pallotta, because it's always surprising which animal might win in a fight!
📚Fiction for Adults: The Women by Kristin Hannah
