Students have been hard at work on their Science Fair projects! Hands-on experiments are an amazing way to learn about how things work - like electricity or chemical reactions. 💡It also inspires students to ask questions, take risks, and make and test hypotheses. Investigative learning is one of our favorite things to do!

Martin Luther King, Jr. said, "Everybody can be great because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love."
We're so proud of our students because every week, they seek ways to better our community and help one another. In our WOW Teams, students build their leadership skills, work together, and contribute to various service projects.

From fractions to light refraction, Mrs. Yates' and Mrs. Garcia's classes love hands-on learning in math and science!
✏️Students in Mrs. Yates' 4th/5th grade class practiced addition and subtraction of fractions. With fractions, it helps to visualize by solving real-world word problems like this one that asked students to solve how much more cheese you need than pepperoni to make a yummy pizza! In science, they learned what yeast needs to break dormancy.
🔦 In Mrs. Garcia's 1st grade class, students explored how light refracts off of different surfaces by redirecting light beams. It was very enLIGHTening!

Our 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade students have been studying the life cycle of Chinook Salmon. Students went on a field trip to the local fish hatchery and we brought in salmon eggs for them to raise, making real-world connections. Today was the day they released their salmon into the Sacramento River!
