We're just over a month into the new school year, and we're beyond thrilled to see how our students have taken initiative in forming clubs! One of our awesome fourth graders started the Habits Club, where during recess, students meet up and do a deeper dive into the 7 Habits of Happy Kids. 🙂 Talk about being proactive! 🙌

These are lifelong skills that students will take with them into adulthood. Way to be leaders! 👏

Ms. Justice Gibbs is one of our amazing TK teachers at Folsom Prep, and she knows how to make learning for our littlest learners FUN-tastic! TK is such a foundational year for children as they start out in school. In this Teacher Feature, let's get to know Ms. Gibbs!

💡Did you know that music not only gets our creative juices flowing, but it also helps build math skills? 🧮

🎼From recognizing note patterns to counting the beat, music is very mathematical. Ms. Allison is our amazing Music & Drama teacher, and she's been working with students on building the basics of music - from learning about musical notes, how rhythm works, and more! 🥁🪇🎹🎤

STEAM it up! Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math help students build their critical thinking skills, learn how to collaborate with others, and nurture creativity. Every week we have STEAM class for TK through 5th grades, and students learn how research, design, and experimentation work through hands-on projects!

Something that makes our school so special is the fact that everyone knows everyone. We make a point of getting to know every family that walks in, not just your child, but parents, grandparents, siblings.

And it all starts with Ms. Tammy, who you'll see first thing at drop-off, all the way to our amazing After School Director, Ms. Diane. You may know them as some of the Friendliest Faces at the front of Folsom Prep (we love alliteration)! 😊

💡In this Staff Spotlight, say hello 👋 to Mrs. Murawski, our amazing principal who has been leading the way at Folsom Prep for the last 7 years!

Before becoming principal, Mrs. Murawski taught several grades including Kindergarten, first, second, and fifth. She loved teaching each grade level and her favorite subjects were math and science!🔬🧮

But one of the things she loves seeing the most is when reading clicks for students and their love of reading books begins 📚 It opens up a whole new world of wonder!

🗓Mark your calendars for Back to School Night this week! This is a wonderful opportunity to hear from your child's teacher about what they'll be learning in school this year, expectations, and get any questions answered. Childcare will be available (please sign up at the front desk).
